The paper

Lamballais S, Muetzel RL. QDECR: A Flexible, Extensible Vertex-Wise Analysis Framework in R. Frontiers in Neuroinformatics. 2021;15:561689. doi:10.3389/fninf.2021.561689

The paper is open access. It describes why QDECR was written, to bring R's modelling, imputed data and samples of thousands to surface-based analysis, and how its modules fit together.

Name the version you ran in your methods, for example "QDECR 0.9.0 in R". R tells you which one is installed:

FreeSurfer and the correction

QDECR fits the models, but the surfaces and the correction for multiple testing are FreeSurfer's. Most journals will expect these too:

  • Fischl B. FreeSurfer. NeuroImage. 2012;62(2):774โ€“781. doi:10.1016/j.neuroimage.2012.01.021FreeSurfer itself, which produces the surfaces and the cluster-wise correction.
  • Hagler DJ, Saygin AP, Sereno MI. Smoothing and cluster thresholding for cortical surface-based group analysis of fMRI data. NeuroImage. 2006;33(4):1093โ€“1103. doi:10.1016/j.neuroimage.2006.07.036The Monte Carlo simulations behind the cluster-wise correction.
  • Greve DN, Fischl B. False positive rates in surface-based anatomical analysis. NeuroImage. 2018;171:6โ€“14. doi:10.1016/j.neuroimage.2017.12.072How well those simulations control false positives in anatomical data, and at which thresholds.
